The Malta company formation and registration fees are payable to the Malta Business Registrar of Companies upon the Malta company formation and are calculated according to the company’s authorised share capital.
Company Formation Fees
The Malta company formation and registration fees range from a minimum of €100 up to a maximum of €2.250, as indicated in the table below. Registration can be made either in paper format or in electronic format, and the fees levied vary accordingly:

If a company subsequently increases its authorised share capital, the difference in registration fees would be levied.
A minimum annual fee of €100 is payable with the submission of the Annual Return to the Malta Registrar of Companies.
Are there any fees to access Malta’s business registry?
Accessing detailed information from the Malta Business Registry (MBR) generally involves fees, though basic searches and statutory forms are free.
The fee structure depends on the type of information or document you need:
- Public Information Searches: You can search for commercial partnerships by name or company number on the MBR website at no cost.
- Document Copies: Obtaining specific document copies costs €0.50 per sheet.
- Certified Documents:
- Unbound true copies: €5.
- Bound true copies: €10.
- Certificate of Directors (list of directors): €10.
- Beneficial Ownership (BO) Access: Requests for beneficial ownership information, which require a demonstrated legitimate interest, cost €5 per request.
- Online System: The MBR online portal operates on a prepaid credit system for paid services.
For businesses themselves, registration fees start at €100 for electronic filing (based on authorised share capital) and €100 for annual returns.
