Malta Startup Residence Programme
The Malta Startup Residence Programme will allow founders of startups to apply for a three-year residency permit, renewable for a further five years. Core employees earning more than €30,000 a year will be able to renew their permit for an additional three years. After living in Malta for five years, applicants can apply for long-term residency.
Requirements
If you’re looking to take advantage of this programme, the startup must have not been registered for more than seven years, and you’ll need an investment or paid-up share capital of up to €25,000. If you have more than four co-founders, up to a maximum of six, additional funding of €10,000 each is required. Those seeking to apply for Malta’s new startup residence programme must reside and pay taxes in Malta.
Malta Enterprise will be responsible for investigating the business viability and monitoring the economic progress of the venture. Residency Malta Agency would also ensure due diligence on the source of wealth.
