How long does it take to set up a Malta company?
The Malta Company may be incorporated within 48 hours from receipt of the relevant documents (including all due diligence documents) and share capital funds/fees. Once the incorporation is complete, the MFSA will publish a Certificate of Incorporation which will also display the Company Registration number.

Should a Malta Company appoint a director who is resident of the Maltese islands?
It is preferable to have a Director resident in Malta and this can be as sole director or a joint directorship. Do I have to open a Malta Bank account?

How do I register a Malta Company for VAT?
A company registered in Malta which is trading in goods and/or services in Malta is required to register for VAT within 30 days of its first supply of goods and/or services made in Malta. There are three types of VAT registration which cater for the general VAT registration, small undertakings and also EU Intra Community activity. We can act on your behalf and apply for a Maltese VAT Number.
What is the Malta company tax?
Most of the companies incorporated in Malta are subject to a corporate tax rate of 35%. However, the Malta Tax System is a full imputation system which may result in a shareholder claiming a 6/7th tax refund on any tax paid by the company on profits distributed as dividends. It is also possible to get a full refund should a company have a participating holding.

• The minimum share capital of a Malta public limited company is EUR 46,587.47;
o At least 25% of that capital must be paid when the company is formed
• The minimum share capital of a Malta private limited company is EUR 1,164.69;
